What We Did...
Grand Rapids Camera Club
When the Grand Rapids Camera Club announced a new-logo contest for its members, we decided to give it a go and create one. It made sense, because that is what we do.
The club was established in 1898 and is the oldest camera club in the United States in continuous and uninterrupted existence. It was important to include this date.
Since the club was moving forward, embracing digital photography and computer post-processing, we wanted the logo to reflect that. We used a modern san-serif font and a silhouette of a camera mounted on a tripod.
We rounded the box corners to help make the logo friendly, and added shadowing to the larger type and outside box for depth. The black, blue and white color scheme seemed to work well, and the logo was chosen the winner by the club members.
